I have a soft coated wheaten terrier and he is about 5 years old. He is about like 60 pounds give or take. And i think that is an average size for them. Another soft coated wheaten lives next door to me and she is around 45 pounds. She is only 2 years old though. Hopes this helps My Wheaten is 27 pounds and 2 ounces at her last wellness exam. She is a little small as most females are 30 - 35 lbs. Males are larger and usually go from 35-45 pounds but can be much larger. Our breed has a STANDARD. A 60 pound male dog is either too fat or way over the height allowance set by that STANDARD.
Soft coated Wheaton Terriers can live on average 12-15 years.
anywhere from 500 to 1000 bucks for a soft haired non shedding Wheaten Terrier Please get the name of our breed correct. It is Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier and if you are seeing puppies for the prices you describe, you are not in touch with a reputable breeder. Every breed club has a website. Go to ours and look up breeders and the websites for all regional clubs. You are way, way off the mark! A Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier from a reputable breeder can cost anywhere from about $1300 to $2500 depending on what area of the country you live. If you are seeing really low prices you are looking at backyard breeders and commercial breeders. Please don't settle for this. You would be better paying a nominal fee and rescuing a Wheaten who comes from "Wheatens In Need" or our National Club Rescue. Both are wonderful. I have been showing and breeding Wheatens for almost 26 years.
