Is that Alexander the great? His famous horse was named Bucephalus, which translates to ox-headed, although that could very likely refer to the breed from which he originated. Bucephalus was reputedly afraid of, or perhaps hostile to, his shadow and was tamed by Alexander by keeping him facing sunwards. The horse is alleged to have lived to almost the same age as Alexander.
