My Vet recommend switching to adult food at one year of age.
Absolutely NONE. The only change for a prego pug is to switch her to a high quality puppy chow for her last month of gestation. Or a high quality adult food, but puppy chow is better.
you should change it's food at age two to adult food
because puppy chow has special vitamins in it that dog chow doesnt . . . its like how kids need extra vitamins so that they are healthy when the are adults!
Puppy chow is called that because the snack closely resembles dog food, commonly known as chow, and it is enjoyed by many like how puppies enjoy their food eagerly. The name is meant to be playful and to reflect the snack's appearance and appeal.
The best kind of food would be puppy chow. This kind of food contains different nutrients than adult food that help in the development of the dog's body. It is also high in calories to support a puppies active lifestyle.
Well, while it may not be the best food for them, it wont hurt them or anything. Dog food is made from meat byproducts and some of the tougher meat from chicken, beef, lamb, or even fish. The proteins are combined with a carbohydrate (usually rice or corn) and processed so it has a very long shelf life. Puppy food usually has a higher protein and calcium content than adult dog food to help a puppy grow. If I had to choose between nothing and puppy chow, I would go with puppy chow, but if there is anything else available I would leave the dog food to the dogs.
Rice is now found in many of the canned pet foods. Rice is a digestible food for a dog and there should be no reason why it couldn't be mixed with puppy chow.
milk or puppy chow/food NOT humans eric :/

The best puppy food is one that has meat listed first, do not buy puppy food that has fillers like corn, wheat, soy or meat by-products.
Puppy chow is a very low quality fatty dog food.....puppy food in general has increased amount of fat which could pose a metabolism issue in an older dog. A high quality dog food along with dog specific exercise would be better
