Cheetah's are extinct in the wild in India. They were hunted to extinction by humans. They were declared extinct in the 1940's. The government of India is planning to breed cubs in captivity and re-introduce them in the wild. They are importing Adult Cheetahs from Africa and are planning to breed them in captivity and then once they grow up, they will be released into the wild.
