Red foxes can be found as far north as the Yukon Flats Wildlife Refuge in Alaska, to as far south as Texas. Due to global warming, red foxes have been seen further north. However they do not tolerate constant sub-zero weather like the Arctic fox, or blistering heat like the kit fox. Red foxes were imported to the east coast by Europeans in the late 1600's, but quickly mixed with the denizen population.

What type of foxes live in Missouri?

In Missouri, from what I can figure out, we have the Red fox, which can be found throughout the United States, with a few exceptions. The Red fox is also sometimes born black. We have the Gray fox, which also has a very wide range across the United States. The Gray fox is very timid and can climb a tree like a cat. And lastly I believe that we may also have the swift fox, which is the smallest of all the foxes (size of a domestic cat) and received it name because of the fast speed at which it can run. (Approximately 40 kilometers per hour (25 mph) short distance)

What is a baby Mississippi red fox?

A baby Mississippi red fox, known as a kit, is the juvenile stage of the Mississippi red fox species, which is a subspecies of the red fox found in the southeastern United States. Kits are born in the spring, usually in litters of 4 to 6, and are characterized by their soft, fluffy fur, which is typically grayish-brown with lighter underparts. They rely on their mother for nourishment and protection during their early weeks, gradually becoming more independent as they grow.
