John Horse, a prominent leader of the Black Seminoles, primarily lived in Florida and later in Mexico. After the Seminole Wars, he and many other Black Seminoles relocated to Mexico in the 1870s, seeking freedom and a better life. His life was marked by his efforts to advocate for the rights and autonomy of his people.
