Merle refers to a dogs colouring and it is not a dog breed. Many different Dog Breeds can have merle colourings.
My concern would be that it is very difficult if not virtually impossible to know if the "non-merle" dog has absolutely no merling background in its genes. For that reason, I personally would not breed a double merle dog.
The "lethal whites" happen when a merle dog is bred with another merle. This can happen with any breed of dog that carries the merle gene, not just Australian shepherds.
you get ALL double merle puppies! O no!! . If you breed a double merle to a regular merle you get 50percent regular merle pups and 50percent double merle pups. If you breed a double merle to a solid colored dog or non-merle you get 100 percent merle puppies:) these are just the facts! Hope it helped.
Merle is a description of a pattern on a dog's coat that is created from a certain gene. Dogs that have the merle gene tend to have speckled coats and blue eyes.
a merle pomeranean
No, would have to be crossed with another dog carrying the merle gene. Then would not be a Welsh Corgi.
weimariner definatly weimariner
Yes it is. Its a beautiful colouration and often has light blue eyes. My collie bitch's mother was a blue merle. so my dog is black and white, but her white paws and chest have the 'blue merle' effect. she is very pretty.
Merle Haggard's dog was named "Boo." The dog was a Labrador mix and was known to accompany Haggard, reflecting the singer's love for animals. Boo was often featured in his social media posts and was a beloved companion to the country music legend.
I'd say that dog might be a Miniature Australian Shepherd. They are just like an Australian Shepherd but were bred down to be smaller. There are also Toy Aussies. Their colors are classified as: blue merle, red merle, black tri, and red tri. -beautiful dogs-great for families:)
Merle Gilson's birth name is George Merle Gilson.
Most likely either another dog bred to the female, or a gene that is hidden or from the bloodline comes through. For example a dog can be a merle yet not even show the merle gene, but when it has puppies the puppies can display the merle gene. This is known as a cryptic merle.
