"cuz witch's have black kats as there pets"
I happen to be a Witch, and I can tell you that witches were believed to have any cat as their familiar, not just a black one. While you can have an animal companion, it is not necessary. It comes from the superstition of a black crossing your path being unlucky which is, of course, utter nonsense.
== == Cats were seen walking around at night way back in time. Since the cats were seen mostly at night, people thought that all cats were black. The Celts believed that cats were people turned into cats by evil powers from a witch. Since the witch was already a Halloween symbol, the black cat was made a symbol as well.
It depends on who you are and if you believe in superstitions. I personally don't, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't. Honestly, I've always been around black cats and none of them have ever acted odd on Halloween, but again, it depends on who you are and if you believe in superstitions.
halloween if you are afraid of black cats that is............
black
Black
There is not a direct connection from black cats to Halloween. Rather, they are used as Halloween symbolism because they came to represent bad luck. This superstition dates back to the Middle Ages, when people believed that black cats were literal agents of Satan.
they are whitches pets
You will know later, while you're eating your candy, that somewhere out there is a black cat walking around :} While black cats have been burdened with the superstition that they're bad luck, I am aware of no correlation between black cats and Halloween except that, as bad luck sympols are scary, and Halloween is scary, black cats are associated with Halloween. However, there is no correlation between cats of any color and luck of any kind.
Because some people think that black cats mean bad luck and witch-craft! I have a black cat and I don't think it is true. Black cats can be thought of as evil/scary to some people. Black cats fit halloween, they can lurk in shadows and hide in the darkness.
According to Halloween history, black cats have been given a strange reputation for being freaky or strange. Black cats cannot do anything to you. It is just a weird Halloween myth. They cannot make you do something or act any differently.
Black Cats
Along with the pumpkin, ghost, witch and skeleton, the Halloween cat is an icon of the season. Always depicted as a solid black short-haired cat, the animal may be pictured on the prowl, puffed up in a hiss, or riding on the back of a witch's broom. Cardboard cutouts of the black cat are a popular Halloween decoration. Children's books and movies about Halloween often include a Halloween cat as a character. Cat Halloween costumes, especially black cat costumes, are popular. How the black cat came to be associated with Halloween, and what this association means for actual black cats, is the stuff of legend. Every autumn, rumors circulate of witches and satanic cults seeking black cats to sacrifice in Halloween rituals. Animal shelters throughout North America have been known to disallow adoptions of black cats right before Halloween. Owners of black cats are advised to keep their pets indoors, lest the cats be stolen for cult sacrifices. These rumors are apparently nothing more than urban legend. According to snopes.com, no solid evidence of black cat sacrifices, at Halloween or any other time of year, has ever been found. While there may be a slight uptick of animal abuse incidents around Halloween, these incidents are attributable to malicious pranks and do not necessarily target black cats in particular. Wiccans, neo-Pagans and others who may call themselves witches typically do not practice animal sacrifice at all. The main threat to cats of any color at Halloween is being annoyed by trick-or-treaters and loud parties.[http://www.snopes.com/horrors/mayhem/blackcat.asp] The black cat's association with magic and witches makes it a Halloween symbol. For many generations, cats, and black cats in particular, have been associated with witchcraft and magic. Hekate, the Greek goddess of the underworld, later known as the queen of witches, was said to sometimes take the form of a black cat. In times past, if you met a black cat, it was understood that you might be meeting Hekate herself. From this comes the superstition that having a black cat cross your path is bad luck. Halloween, being a holiday associated with magic and death, claims the magical black cat one of its symbols.[http://www.helium.com/items/1603215-how-do-superstitions-originate]
