I'm afraid my advice cant be accurate but when a dolphin is in water, it's weight is less, whereas when a dolphin beaches itself, in land it is heavier. Because it is used to being in the water it's organs can't cope with what is basically being crushed, they begin to shut down and collapse. It's own body weight crushes itself, if that makes sense?
Bottlenose dolphins are separated into two groups, the near shore bottlenose dolphins, and the offshore bottlenose dolphins. The nearshore bottlenose dolphins are always located close to shore.
