How do you know their crying rather then inviting all their friends and throwing a random party if your gone? XD. Dog's cry when you leave because they are pack animals, which means they follow the alpha ((you)).
Wolves and dog's are much more alike then we think when it comes to actions. In wolf packs, it is not normal for the alpha to leave the pack behind, so when your dog sees you leave, he/she may think you are abandoning them.
