Why do hippo's smell so bad?

Hippos don't get there teeth cleaned that often. If they are Hippo's in a zoo, the owner of the zoo or a zoo keeper should brush the animals teeth so the animal can stay healthy. Hippo's get that bad breath from eating things they are not supposed to eat and from zookeepers waiting too long to clean the germs off the teeth.

Because they tend to spread their urine/feces around them in the water. It's the excrement that makes them small awful, just like with pigs.
