There are many different theories for why some tabby cats have the "M" marking on their heads, and most of them have to do with religion. I could give you a couple.
-In Christianity, the "M" is said to be where Mary, mother of Jesus Christ, blessed a tabby cat when he(cat) comforted her baby(Jesus).
-In Islam, the theory is that the "M" stands for "Mohammad". Forgive me if I spelled it wrong.
So yeah that's pretty much all I got. If you want to know the biological reason, it's probably the same reason some people's hair is brown.
