Natural eye colour is discontinuous. :) !
Horse skin color exhibits discontinuous variation because it is influenced by specific genetic factors that produce distinct phenotypes, such as bay, chestnut, or black. Unlike traits that show continuous variation, such as height, horse colors do not blend gradually but instead appear as separate categories. This is due to the presence of dominant and recessive alleles that determine these color traits, leading to clearly defined groups rather than a smooth gradient of colors.
This is a typical kind of continuous variation which is controlled by polygenes.
Polygenic inheritance results in traits that are controlled by multiple genes, leading to a wide range of possible phenotypes within a population. This can contribute to continuous variation in traits such as height, skin color, and intelligence.
Two factors that can affect variation are: (1) climate (on the colour of the skin, for example); (2) diet (a deficiency of some mineral can cause poor growth for one who has tallness in their genes)

enviromental variation means what impact the enviroment has on the way you look for example if you have darker skin then many people it could be due to the heat of where you was brought up in, or the colour of your hair as the sun has shone on it, hope this helps:)
A polygenetic trait is a characteristic that is influenced by multiple genes, each contributing a small amount to the overall phenotype. These traits often show a wide range of variation in a population and are not simply controlled by a single gene. Examples include height, skin color, and intelligence.
Because a horse's skin is either black, grey o r chestnut, that depends on the horse colour, so the horse colour is going to be a mix between them or one of them.
it depends on your gene. there are dominant and recessive gene present. and for skin colour, bright colour are dominant over dark colour. if the both the parent are bright skin colour but the children is dark skin colour. there are possibilities where the recessive gene present in one or both parent. under certain circumstances the recessive gene will show its trait instead of the dominant gene. that's why some parent skin colour is different from the childrens' skin colour
