Why is it important to save Bengal tigers?

Tigers are the top predator in the food chain that keeps the eco-system going in tropical jungles of Asia. When they vanish due to poaching and lack of habitat, they take away with them an important link in the food chain. Tigers help keep the population of herbivores like Deers, Wild Buffaloes, Antelopes and Omnivores like Boars in the jungle. Nature is finally balanced with the right proportion of predators for prey. By taking away one important predator, prey will increase at the cost of habitat which finally impacts mankind

Tigers are what people call "indicator species". These species can tell if the environment is stable and can stabilize the environment. The tiger kills the sambar, a type of Indian deer. If the tiger is taken out of the picture, (grass ---> sambar ---> tiger) then the sambar will eat up all the grass. If all the grass is gone, so are the other animals that eat the grass. With all the herbivores gone, all the carnivores are gone with them with no food to eat. Therefore, the whole Indian ecosystem crashes.

With the only grass and plants sustainable and not eaten up being in farms, they can eat up all the plants there! Then farmers will kill the rest of the herbivores to save their farms.

This happened in Yellowstone National Park when all the wolves were poached. Don't let this happen again, so just believe me and save the tigers. There are many other reasons to save the tigers too, not just for our benefit. It's just plain evil to kill a tiger.
