This is a popular Chinese myth in regards to the Zodiac. Apparently, Buddha arranged a gathering before he departed Earth and asked all the animals to join. When the cat found out, he told the rat; they both decided to go to the gathering together the following day. Sadly, the rat purposely did not wake the cat the next morning, thus all the animals except the cat went to the gathering and were given a year in the Zodiac.
Year of the Cat was created in 1976-07.
There is no year of cat in the Chinese zodiac.
Jan 23, 2033 starts off the next year of the Water Cat.
Al Stewart sang the song...year of the cat
1 cat year=8 human years (or vice versa)
It depends what cat you're talking about, if it's your cat and you don't know how old he/she is remember what year your cat was born in and count up to the year now.

On average, 1 human year is equivalent to about 7 cat years. This ratio can vary depending on the breed of the cat and its health.
A 21 year old cat is about 101 years old in human years.
A 13 year old cat in cat years is 13 years old... in human years 68 years old.
In cat years, contrary to popular belief, the first year is 20 years and each year after that is 4 years. Therefore, the cat would be 24 cat years old.
40. It is believed that for every human year a cat year is 5.
