Four-wheel drive (4WD) can quit working due to several reasons, including a malfunctioning transfer case, damaged driveshaft, or issues with the front or rear differentials. Electrical problems, such as a blown fuse or faulty wiring, can also prevent 4WD engagement. Additionally, low fluid levels or contamination in the transfer case or differentials can impair functionality. Regular maintenance is essential to prevent these issues.
In most cases, no. The only way I can think of that would make the 4 wheel drive stop working is if the wheel bearing completely froze up the wheel and ended up breaking a u-joint or CV joint.
If the all wheel drive stops working on a 1999 Bravada, there could be something wrong with the electrical sensors. There may also be a problem with some of the electrical wiring.
A friend of mine had the same problem and he just had to jump out and lock the hubs manually to get his 4x4 working.
If your Suzuki Vitara's four-wheel drive has stopped working, it could be due to several issues. Common causes include a malfunctioning transfer case, damaged driveshafts, or problems with the vacuum system that engages the four-wheel drive. It's also possible that there are issues with the control switch or electrical connections. A thorough diagnostic check by a qualified mechanic can help identify the exact problem and necessary repairs.
Many have the same problem, but it is when the steering wheel is tilted. One of the wires in the harness on the steering column breaks contact. Are you tilting the wheel when you so this??
When mine quit working, it was a sensor(s) in the steering wheel itself that had gone out. It started out by not working on one side of the sterring wheel, but would on the other....and the locations would change around until it completely went out in about a week. Being my car was still under warranty when it happened, the dealership replaced the sensors for free. They had to tear open the sterring wheel to do it.
NAS is Network Attached storage. The consumer benefits from it if their computer's hard drive would quit working, they would have all their information back up.
Possibly a short in a wire in the motor which is most likely under the drive seat?
