1. It may not have enough food resources where it came from
2. They found through research that many cougars migrate to the lowlands in Spring and Autumn so there isn't as much competition for resources (food and water)
3. It could be a juvenile (young) male cougar and the other male that held that territory before pushed him down from through dominance.
