I caught a young kit in a woodchuck trap. We were able to prop the doors open to release him and he did not spray us. I don't know if it was his age, time of day(8am) or he just wasn't scared of us.
use a live trap that is covered baited with chicken, the cover is for the fact a skunk will spray when it sees you DO NOT LIFT COVER!!!
move very slowly and cover the trap with a pool liner so when it sprays it wont get on you
Use a small trap just big enough for the skunk to get in. It MUST be small enough to prevent the skunk from lifting it's tail. The skunk can't spray if it can't lift it's tail. Once the skunk is trapped he may be safely relocated. To release the skunk simply place the trap on the ground and open the door. I know that sounds scary but the skunk will nonchalantly walk out and away.
a skunk might spray a little gas when it dies
No. Skunk spray is not flammable. It is a mixture of sulfur containing chemicals.
Skunk spray is not necessarily "made". Skunk spray is a liquid or gas like substance that is produced in the glands for defending themselves which is why they spray.

No.
It smells bad, like a skunk spray.
To "de-skunk" a skunk and prevent it from spraying, you can use a method that involves applying a mixture of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and dish soap to neutralize the odor. However, it’s crucial to handle the skunk carefully to avoid startling it, which can trigger a spray. If you're dealing with a pet or a skunk in a humane trap, ensure you give it space and use calming techniques before safely releasing or handling it. Always consult wildlife professionals for the best practices in such situations.
