We give an information and benefits of product/service to customers. Aside from that we need to offer additional promo for product/services to customer to become interested. Last is we need to convince to customer to buy the product/service.

I've been the customer in this situation and when I feel pressure to buy something I don't want and the salesperson won't take no for an answer, I leave. I don't buy anything from pushy salespeople.

The three main functions of promotion are to inform customers about a product or service, persuade them to make a purchase, and remind them about the benefits of the product or service.
For me, I prefer both. Why? Because doubtful customer can educate about the product or service from inquiries up to order processing and angry customer can pacify them by sympathy, offering a reward program and ask an apology about poor product or service and poor customer service. My objective is to retain the customers for patronizing the product/service regardless what type of customers are.
