Umm - As a search engine optimization expert, I don't believe that Blogger is good for SEO. It isn't a custom domain which is the beginning of ANY great SEO effort and in general, Google frowns on sub-domains..even their own (Blogspot) from an indexing standpoint.
If you don't believe this - search your favorite term on Google and see how many sub-domain blogs are listed on Page #1 versus custom domains.
Further - go to Google Adwords and try to run an advertising campaign for your site using a Blogger account. They will reject your ads immediately even though they own Blogger.
Some of the more popular and highly recommended SEO firms include the Atlanta SEO Company and the SEO Firm located in Orange County. Be careful when choosing a SEO firm as many will fall flat when the time comes.
I run an SEO company that does web design and SEO services. SEO is becoming a more lucrative business all the time. It requires a specialized knowledge and the latest information on SEO to be any good at it. For example SEO tactics that were used 5 years ago just don't work now. As businesses more fully adopt the power of online marketing and the benefits of web 2.0 for their businesses I think SEO will grow. SEO experts in North America are making upwards of $100-$400/hour for extensive SEO work. Overseas contractors are charging much smaller fees like $10-20/hour for medium quality. All this said SEO only still accounts for about 15% of our overall income as a business. Hope this helps. Yes, By doing SEO you can earn more profit.
