Paul explained this to the Hebrew Christians in Hebrews 9 & 10
And John the Baptist, at Jesus' baptism, announced him as the "Lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world."
Before Jesus' advent, the shedding of the blood of bulls and goats endeavoured to take sins away; but this was not possible, (Hebrews 10.4); but now we are:
"sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once [for all]." (Hebrews 10.10)
You could use the word "covenant" The Old Testament was the old covenant concerning the law and the New Testament is the new covenant which explains the Grace of God to mankind in sending His only begotten Son into the world to save sinners. The old covenant is no longer in force. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through Him (Jesus Christ)
In the King James version the word - covenant - appears 265 times in the Old Testament
Jesus mentioned tithes three time and in each case condemned the tithe payer. Also each case was actually under the Old Covenant sicne it was before Calvary. Jesus discussed "matters of the law" in Mt 23:23. There is no post-Calvary New Covenant command to tithe. OT tithe-recipients were not allowed to own land and were expected to stay poor. Tithing ended for Jews at Cavlary and never did apply to Gentiles.
First, the term 'testament' was only first coined in the 2nd Century AD. It is actually the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. The Old Covenant is commonly referred to as the Hebrew Bible/Scriptures. In the Old there are currently 39 books while in the New there are 27. So by books, the Old is greater with approximately 60% of the written word. One must realize that God did not give mankind 2 separate Bibles. Rather the Bible is one continuous inspired set of teachings and instructions. The Apostles quoted from the Old Covenant 695 times. Depending on which scholar you refer to, the Old Covenant is quoted/alluded to over 4,105 times ((Roger Nicole, The Expositor's Bible Commentary , Zondervan, Grand Rapids, 1979, Vol. I, p. 617). When one considers that the only written Covenant at the time of the Apostles was the Old, we see the importance the Apostle Paul of the Gentiles places on it here:2 Timothy 3:15New King James Version (NKJV)15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
The Old Testament is the Mosaic covenant of works The New Testament is the Abrahamic covenant of grace Law of Moses: the ministration of death Gospel of Christ: the ministration of life
If you believe that Jesus Christ is God, then yes He is Jehovah.
There is no reference to the Apostles in the OLD Testament. The Old Testmant is full of prophets, priests, and kings. The New Testament had the twelve apostles, the followers of Jesus Christ.

No Jesus did not convert. The Old Testament tells us of a new covenant that God was giving to the Jewish people in "time to come". When Jesus (the Son of God) came to earth in human form that "time had come" Jesus simply instituted the new covenant. It was the Jewish people who failed to recognize the Messiah and follow Him into the new covenant.
God made many covenants in the Old Testament, but I assume you are speaking about the "New Covenant" vs the "Old Covenant" which God gave Israel through Moses at Mount Sinai. The "New Covenant" or second was mentioned in the Old Testament several times as a covenant which was yet future. The "New Covenant" started in the New Testament when Jesus Christ died on the cross of Calvary, was buried, and was resurrected the third day. The 'Old Covenant" was by Law and the "New Covenant" was by grace.
As for the old covenant we fell under the Mosiac Law and now for the new covenant we fall under the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Answer To get a fuller understanding of this subject, read the book of Hebrews in the Bible,it might take you an hour.... tops. It was wrote primarily to explain that very thing, and how the new covenant that replaces the old is a better permanant one that replaces a temporary one that was a foreshadow of the new one that was to come. Notice in your reading of Hebrews the key words of : better, and, covenant. It will all be spelled out to you.
The Bible is called testaments because there is 2 different testaments the new testament and the old testament the new testament is after Jesus was born and the old testament was before Jesus was born.
The word Testament means covenant. The Old Testament describes the old covenant God made. The New Testament describes the new covenant Gad made with humans through Christ Jesus. The Old Testament looks forward to Christ where as the New Testament looks back at the promises of Christ.
Christianity started with Jesus Christ. Jesus came down from heaven from God the Father to reconcile sinners back to God. Since the time of Adam mankind has been alienated from God by sin. Jesus died on the cross to be the ultimate sacrifice for sin. Only persons who believe in Jesus Christ by faith can be saved from eternal damnation and be given eternal life. While on earth Jesus chose 12 disciples/apostles. These men were believers that Jesus was the Son of God and were trained by Him to carry on the work of Jesus to reconcile others to God. In the Old Testament, Jeremiah 31:31 it says," Behold, the days are coming, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah......" The old covenant ended and the new covenant began when Jesus Christ died on the cross and was resurrected three days later. The old covenant was the Law of Moses and was for the Jewish nation. The new covenant was to be a transition for the Jews to follow the Messiah and be directed by Him in a new way. They rejected Jesus as being the Messiah and have continued in the old covenant which is no covenant at all since Jesus died and was resurrected. God included the Gentile nations into the new covenant, which brings us to the Apostle Paul. The apostle Paul was picked by God the father and Jesus Christ in eternity past to be the Apostle to the Gentiles. (If you are not Jewish you are a Gentile). Paul traveled over much of the Roman Empire (A very large area) and preached about Jesus Christ being the Son of God and that faith in Him is necessary to be saved and have eternal life. Since that time generation upon generation has been passing on the "Good News" (Gospel) that Jesus Christ is the Savior of any who will believe in Him.
The Old Testament contains sacred texts of Judaism, including the Torah, Psalms, and Prophets, while the New Testament contains texts about the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and the early Christian Church. The Old Testament focuses on the covenant between God and the Israelites, while the New Testament emphasizes Jesus as the fulfillment of that covenant and the establishment of a new covenant for all believers.
The Creator of heaven and earth is God. God is the supreme God and it is He who started the nation of Israel and gave them His law to live by (The Law of Moses). This was the start of true religion. This Law of Moses is called the "Old Covenant" that God made with His people. About 2000 years ago God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to earth to die on the cross of Calvary, be buried, and resurrect the third day. This act of Jesus was to save mankind from their sins. (Something the Law could not do) This act of dying and resurrecting also ended the "Old Covenant" and began the "New Covenant". You will notice the Bible is in two parts. The Old Testament pertains to the "Old Covenant" and the New Testament pertains to the "New Covenant". Jesus Christ is not just a religious Leader, He is the ultimate Leader. John 14:6, Jesus tells us, " I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. This tells us that Jesus is the only way to heaven. There is only one God and one Savior whereby men can be saved. God and Jesus are the same, the One God.
