A:

Various fanciful accounts tell how many angels fell from heaven with Satan. These have no biblical support, although they are widely believed.

The Book of Jubilees, which is not found in The Bible, specified that nine parts of the angels fell while one part remained sinless and loyal to God. Medieval writers later reversed these proportions, so that only one-tenth of the angels fell.

The Book of the Secrets of Enoch (2 Enoch), another non-biblical book, added to the myth the significant new element that the angels rebelled on account of pride. The key passage is : "And one from out the order of angels, having turned away with the order that was under him, conceived of an impossible thought, to place his throne higher than the clouds above the earth, that he might become equal in rank to any power. And I threw him out from the height with his angels, and he was flying in the air continuously above the bottomless."

Answer:

The Bible tells us, first of all, that God created angels as many as there are stars in the heavens... and even refers to angels as "stars" for that reason. In other words; there are too many angels to count. At least, for any human to count.

It tells us that the Children God is creating for Himself through mankind, that shall become His Divine Immortal Family, also number as the "stars in the heavens" -- TOO MANY TO COUNT!

"...the Lord brought Abram outside beneath the night sky and told him, 'Look up into the heavens and count the stars if you can. Your descendants will be like that - TOO MANY TO COUNT!" (Gen.15:5 NLT)

The biblical account tells us that God created the angels to "minister to" or: "...care for those who will receive salvation." (Heb.1:14 NLT)

In the "parable" that is the book of Revelation, Jesus explains to His servants:

"This is the meaning of the seven STARS you saw in My right hand... The seven stars ARE THE ANGELS of the seven churches..." (Rev.1:20 NLT New Living Translation).

So, the Bible doesn't tell us how many angels God created. Only, that there are too many for man to count. But it does tell us, roughly, how many of them followed Lucifer, the Dragon {LIT Literal Bible: "drakon"; "...a fabulous kind of serpent (perhaps as supposed to fascinate) - Strong's Definitions}; "...that Old Serpent, called the Devil, and Satan..." - [Rev.12:9]... in the beginning.

It's found in the "parable" of Revelation... where Jesus has already told us that the symbol for "angels" is "stars."

"...I saw a large red Dragon... His tail dragged down ONE-THIRD OF THE STARS, which he threw to the earth..." (Rev.12:3-4 NLT).

The number of angels is too many for man's mind to comprehend: like "forever, infinity, eternity, endless." So, the Bible leaves us contemplating "one-third" of "too many" as the number of angels whom Satan took with him, and went down with him ["...I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven..." - Luke 10:18] in his rebellion against God's Government [His throne in heaven].
