There are actually 39 and 27. The additional ones mentioned above are spurious and not part of The Bible Canon. The Catholics have included writings like the Book Of Maccabees that is clearly nothing to do with inspired writings.

No, that's not true. There's many canons of the Bible. That's why I wrote about catholic one. They have 73 books. I assume you are talking about protestant Bible - that contain 66 books.
Catholics believe that all their books are inspired by Holy Spirit. You cannot say it's untrue and spurious, because that is offended.
