"Yahweh" is a transliteration of the name of God in the Hebrew and Aramaic scriptures (commonly called the Old Testament). "Jehovah" is the more common, Latinized form. God's name appears as four Hebrew (or Aramaic) characters (the tetragrammaton), without vowels, nearly 7,000 times in the Hebrew scriptures. By contrast- the name of Jesus appears in the Greek scriptures (commonly called the New Testament) 952 times (more or less in some translations). No other name appears as abundantly in The Bible as does the tetragrammaton. Most Bibles mis-translate it as a capitalized title such as Lord or God, Almighty God, etc. However it is a proper name such as every person has. It's of interest that the ancient pronunciation of Jesus' name is not certain. Yet translators (quite correctly) transliterate it as "Jesus".
