yes, why would "god" make the universe only to have us pray to him? also, all of The Bible says nothing about "how the earth was made" that makes any sense. i just generally think that the bible was just something that somebody made to try to make their friends belive in something.

The Bible is not fake in the sense of being an intentional deception. Much of the Bible, such as the Book of Psalms and the Book of Proverbs, consists of poetry, hymns and wise sayings. Other parts, especially the Pentateuch (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy), Joshua and the Book of Judges, consist of myths and legends which, although probably not true, are not 'fake'.

The nearest the Bible comes to 'fake' are the Books of Daniel and Esther, but they were written as novels that were only subsequently accepted as representing real history. Many of the epistles are pseudepigraphical but, although not really written by the men whose names they bear, could still represent spiritual truths.
