AnswerThe Book of Psalms is a substantial collection of songs and hymns written over a period of perhaps two centuries following the Babylonian Exile. There is no plot or continuity through the Book of Psalms. At some stage, many of the psalms were attributed to the legendary kings, David and Solomon.

The Book of Proverbs was written in several layers. The original layer of the book was about the female spirit or goddess Wisdom (or Lady Wisdom), who played a significant role in Jewish belief from around the fourth century BCE until the end of the first century CE. Subsequent layers were about philosophical wisdom and tend to dilute and obscure the references to Lady Wisdom. The later layers also attributed the book to Solomon.
