The Mor in Morado is Turkish/Arabic for purple, the ado in Morado is just a prefix like ish. Example Color(ado)-reddish, anaranj(ado)-orangelike, mor(ado)-purplish etc etc. This name came about with the Moorish invasion of Spain circa 861. And in 1492 as the Moors and Jews were being opressed/driven by the Inquisition, the Morado family converted to Catholicisim from Islam in order to remain in Spain. They were the blackberry wine makers for the church. The Morado even had a heraldic escudo or family shield consists of a purple background and a yellow cross with three moras (blackberries) representing the three persons in one God, a catholic belief.
