Since we don't know where Abraham was (except that he was "in the Philistines' land") when God spoke to him, and as the route is not detailed in The Bible, this question cannot be answered...

  • Gen 22:2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
  • Gen 22:3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.
  • Gen 22:4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.
  • Gen 22:5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.
  • Gen 22:6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.

What is the history on golgotha?

The first time Golgotha is referred to is in Genesis 22. The LORD told Abraham to go to the land of Moriah and sacrifice his son Isaac on the mount that he would show him. And he said, Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mounts which I will tell you of. Gen 22,2 As Abraham arrived in the land of Moriah, the LORD showed him the exact mount of where he would one day have his son Jesus sacrificed as a burnt offering. This mount was named by Abraham 'Jhwh Jireh' and is not to be confused with Mount Moriah, which is only 300 meters away, separated by a valley where today the eastern wall of Jersualem separates them. There are two characteristics about this mount which allow us to identify it. And Abraham called the name of that place JHWH Jireh as it is said to this day, In the mount the LORD is seen. Gen 22,14 First, in this mount the LORD is seen. What is more obvious about this mount than its appearance, which caused the people of old to say of it, 'In the mount the LORD is seen.' In these days, before Israel was made a wilderness because of their sin, it was a very beautiful land and this hill, shaped like the top of a head, was covered by vegitation, as witnessed to by the ram whose horns were caught in the thickets. The other characteristic is that the LORD personifies himself with this mount, seeing from it. That is what 'Jhwh Jireh' means, 'the LORD sees'. And if the LORD personifies himself with this mount, what is he seeing? He sees from this place the north side of the Altar, where the sacrifices of Israel were made. Did he not see in these sacrifices the death of his son for the forgiveness of sins? How fitting that this place was directly before his sight, as he personified himself with this mount. And he shall kill it on the side of the altar northward before the LORD : and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall sprinkle his blood round about upon the altar. Lev 1,11 The south or west side of the altar would not have been before him, if he personified himself with this mount of which was said, 'in this mount the LORD is seen'. The next time Golgotha appears in history occured in the life of David as he numbered Israel. Although the mount is not directly mentioned, the scriptures refer to the angel being stopped before he entered Jerusalem. (2 Sam 24,16) The altar was built in the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite. Threshing floors were not placed on the top of the hills, but rather in lower positions to simplify carrying wheat there. It is therefore very likely that the altar which David built, at the threshing floor, was not at the top of Mount Moriah as the alter built by Solomon. And if so, it was in the valley east of Mount Moriah. As the angel approached Jerusalem on the east side, it would have come by Golgotha on its way. As it passed by Golgotha, the LORD repented of the evil he planned to do concerning the pestilence. Could it be that this also was related to the death of his son which one day would atone for sin? It was against Jewish custom to crucify people within the city limits. For this reason the Romans, situated just within the eastern Gate of Jerusalem, (at that time the Sheep Gate), used Golgotha as a place to crucify criminals. Even today in this area near the Lion's Gate there are many artifacts testifying that this was the Roman Quarter of the city. It was because of convenience that they crucified on Golgotha, for it was very near where they were stationed. For that reason we read concerning the death of Jesus, that the Jews went to Pilate complaining about the sign 'Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews' or how Pilate inquired whether Jesus was already dead and received quickly an answer. The greatest historical event of all times happened on Golgotha as Jesus was crucified there. Jesus continually fortold his death of being crucified to his disciples. He also fortold that it would happen on the eve of the Passover. You know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man will be betrayed to be crucified. Matt 26,2 Even his enemies testified to this historical event that happened on the eve of the Passover. On the eve of the Passover Yeshu (Jesus) was hanged. Babl. Talmud Sanhedrin 43a

Definition of Old Testament and the New Testament?

A testament refers to a covenant. The Old Testament is the old covenant of God with his people through Abraham. It was first given in Genesis. Adam and Eve had brought sin into the world and made it impossible for a true relationship with God. As a result, death was brought into the world as well as other consequences. Eve was told that she would have to labor to bear children and there would be enmity between the serpent who had tempted her (Satan) and her seed. She was promised that Satan would bruise His heel, but He would crush the serpent's head. It should be noted that blood was the only method to cover sins. This promise was further illuminated on Mount Moriah when Abraham prepared to sacrifice Isaac. God sent an angel to tell Abraham to stop. He had proved that he loved God even more than the gift God had given him in his son. Because of that, God promised that it was through Abraham and Isaac that the Messiah, who would create a way to return to a true relationship with God, would come. As Abraham had been willing to give up his son, God would sacrifice His own Son to pay for the sins of the world. Throughout the Old Testament there are many other prophecies referring to the One who would provide the way back to that relationship lost in Eden, called Messianic prophecies. The New Testament refers to the new covenant when those prophecies were fulfilled. Jesus spoke of this new covenant in the Last Supper, essentially announcing that He was the one God had spoken of to fulfill the need for a sacrifice. We are currently living in the age of this new covenant, in that if any accept Jesus as the Messiah who died for our sins and rose again, they are now able to have that relationship with God that was lost in Eden.

God came from teman the holy one on mount paran selah?

This is the text of Habakkuk 3:3. It is fairly easy to show that it prefigures Mohammed, and many Muslims take it as confirmation of the prophesy of Islam in the Bible. But if it does prophesy Mohammed, it prophesies Mohammed as God:- not as a prophet. It is just as easy to read this text in other ways (where it doesn't refer to Mohammed).Whichever way you read it, it contradicts mainstream Islam.-------------------------I understand also that Habakkuk 3:3 refers to the place where the Almighty made the promise to Abraham. God said He would make Abraham's maidservant (Hagar) and their son (Abraham's and Hagar's) Ishmael, a nation. God's blessing was on both of Abraham's sons. But as far as the lineage of the Jews (who Habukkak spoke to), their God goes back to that place in the wilderness of Paran (Teman/Yeman/Sinai) where Isaac and Ishmael came from, or born out of. God's promise to make Abraham the father of many nations held true. The Christians, Jews and Muslims are thought by many to begin at, or come out from this point in Hebrew Scripture. This place (Teman) is where their race as Jews originates. To their understanding, maybe they assume this is where their God is from. Whether Islam traces their faith back to Paran because of Ishmael, or Makka and its connection to their prophet Muhammad, I see that for many faiths their connection to God began in Teman. Not so much that God was born like a man in Teman, but that is where they began to walk with God.
