Matthew 2:1 suggests that the Magi arrived in Jerusalem not long after the birth of Jesus (γεννηθέντος). They went from Jerusalem to Bethlehem to see Jesus and then returned to the east without informing King Herod. "And when they were departed" (Matthew 2:13), Joseph was warned to flee. The textual evidence is that the flight supposedly took place shortly after Jesus was born.

However, it is supposed that Herod knew less about than the magi knew and was not even sure how old Jesus was. He could be sure that any child who appeared to be under two years old could be the "King of the Jews" that he feared, and so he ordered all such children killed.

The reference in verse 16, to children two years old, provides a partial opportunity for some to avoid overt conflict with the parallel account in Luke's Gospel. They suggest that the flight did not take place until Jesus was around two years old, but are unable to explain why the young family is still in Bethlehem or why they had never been to Nazareth before their return from Egypt (Matthew 2:23). Although not supported by evidence, this view says that the flight occurred when Jesus was around two years old.

What does the number 14 represent in the Bible?

A:The number 14 is twice 7, a propitious number in ancient times. Whereas in its genealogy of Jesus, Luke has great men occur in multiples of 7 generations starting from Adam, Matthewhas great men occurring each fourteenth generation. As we see in Matthew 1:17, the author believed that numerology would prove that this meant Jesus was destined for greatness.

What do reflections occur across?

They occur across an axis of symmetry.

Why is the number 7 so important in the Bible?

Numerology was of great importance to the ancient Jews, and the number 7 and its multiples were particularly significant. There were four quarters of seven days in the moon's cycle, therefore seven days in a week - an invention of the Semitic people of the ancient Near East. Two prominent examples of the use of the number seven and its multiple, fourteen, occur in the gospels. Both Matthew and Luke use numerology, with a pattern of sevens 'proving' that Jesus was the messiah. Matthew demonstrates that there were 14 generations: from Abraham to David; from David to Josiah; from Josiah to Jesus. To do this, he had to ignore 3 kings in the Old Testament and have David in the preceding (as 14) and following (as 1) groups, but not so Josiah. Luke had great men occur in multiples of 7 generations starting from Adam, with: Enoch at 7; Abraham at 21; David at 35; Jesus at 77. He also had: Joseph at 42 and 70; Jesus (Jose) at 49. To do this, he had to insert his own fictitious people into the Old Testament list: Kainan at 13; Admin at 28.

The probability that an event will occur is 0.2. what is the probability that the event will not occur?

The probability that an event will not occur is calculated by subtracting the probability of the event occurring from 1. Given that the probability of the event occurring is 0.2, the probability that it will not occur is 1 - 0.2 = 0.8. Thus, there is an 80% chance that the event will not occur.
