What is revolve in autocad?

In AutoCAD, the "Revolve" command is used to create a three-dimensional object by rotating a 2D profile around a specified axis. This technique is particularly useful for generating symmetrical shapes, such as cylinders or cones, by defining a closed shape and selecting the axis of revolution. Users can specify the angle of revolution, allowing for the creation of partial or full 3D objects. Overall, it is a powerful tool for enhancing 3D modeling capabilities within the software.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of autodesk inventor 2011?

Autodesk Inventor does take up a lot of space and memory on your computer. However, it does have many advantages. It creates mass and volume to the object, the model looks very realistic and can be rendered to look very realistic. Also, with Autodesk Inventor you can create a sketch before adding dimensions and sizes to it, unlike AutoCAD where you have to know your dimension before you create.

What are examples of cad and cam?

CAD (Computer-Aided Design) examples include software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and SketchUp, which are used for designing 2D and 3D models in architecture, engineering, and product design. CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) examples include software such as Mastercam and Fusion 360, which help in programming CNC machines to automate manufacturing processes. Together, CAD and CAM streamline the design and production workflow, enhancing precision and efficiency.

In AutoCAD's 3D modeling environment, a wireframe model represents just the edges or outline of a 3-dimensional object (i.e., a skeleton of your 3D design). Wireframes are used to see inside and outside complicated models, and can be an aid for editing, visualization, and technical analysis prior to making solid or surface geometry. You can access wireframe mode through the Visual Styles panel or by using the following command: 3DORBIT.
