What mechanism is used in bikes to start the engine?

An electric starter.

What is reversible and irreversible process?

Very simple The Reversible Process: That type of process that work cycle, it mean to complete revolution and come back to the initial point from where it start. Example are Carnot Cycle. Two and Four stroke engine. Irreversible Process: Opposite to reversible process called irreversible process. Example are Electricity

How does a jet engine start?

you blow air into it to start the blades moving and then you give fuel to the engines and it starts up

What terminal in a hermetic compressor is the internal overload located?

In a hermetic compressor, the internal overload protector is typically located on the compressor's start winding terminal. This overload device is designed to interrupt the electrical current if the compressor overheats, helping to prevent damage from excessive temperature. It ensures the compressor operates safely and efficiently.

Where is the compression release mechanism located on a B and S 12.5 HP overhead valves My engine has electric and pull start. When I use pull start the engine sometimes pull the cord in very hard.?

Sound like a timing problem. Check fly wheel shear key for wear.Or it might be warn valves. If the engine runs fine once it is started, then it sounds likes the engine needs the valves adjusted. The engine does have a compression release built into it. If the valves are too loose it will have too much compression. For help on adjusting the valves watch the video in the link below.

Did Karl Benz start the automobile industry?

yes and no, he created the internal combustion gasoline engine, but there was steam powered vehicles before

What processes are involved in starting a gasoline engine?

There are four basic things you need to run an internal combustion engine. Fuel, spark, compression and sufficient cranking speed. If an engine fails to start, you are lacking in one of these areas.

How is a diesel engine different from other internal combustion engines?

Its a compression engine, as opposed to a spark driven combustion. No spark plugs! To start the engine, the piston is forced up (by a starter), it compresses the (heated) fuel in the piston which then ignites (under pressure) forcing the piston back down and initiating the engine to turn over.

Do carburetors start a car?

No, starters start an engine. A carburetor supplies the fuel/air mixture to the engine. This mixture combined with a spark, ignites the fuel/air mixture thus causing the engine to run. This is a very simplistic explanation. Search "how the internal combustion engine works" for more information.

Is electric car an internal combustion engine or is the a different type of engine?

An electric car is powered by a large electric motor. This motor is powered by the use of magnets in a coil inside the motor. When electric current is run through the motor, the drive shaft spins. This type of motor has an advantage over internal combustion engines because it offers all its torque at 0 rpm, thousands less than internal combustion engines. This makes the car quicker to start and accelerate.

Can you start a fuel injection with out a fuel pump?

You can start the fuel injector but is going to do nothing without fuel. Without gasoline being pumped to the injector is will not spray fuel and the engine will not run. Every internal combustion engine must have some sort of fuel pump.

Why water comes out of silencer in four stroke engines sometimes?

The water comes out of the silencer because in combustion of fuel the products after are water and carbon di oxide. When in morning Engine is cool and we start the engine, the water in liquid state can be seen coming out.

Why does your engine backfire when you try to start it when it is stone cold?

Incomplete combustion

Explain the basic principle of operation of internal combustion engine?

There are 4 strokes to your average everyday gasoline engine. As well as other little moving partsFuel/Air Valve Opens at the top of this stroke (highest point the piston will go)Stroke 1 : draws in the fuel/air mixtureFuel/Air Valve Closes at the bottom of this stroke (lowest point for the piston)Stroke 2 : compresses the mixture to maximize the explosionSpark plug ignites at the top of the strokeStroke 3 : this is where the internal combustion comes from, the explosion sends the piston downard and cranks the shaft that connects them all.Exhaust Valve Opens at the bottom of this strokeStroke 3 : piston is powered by the other pistons to send the piston back up to push out the exhaust fumesExhaust Valve closes, Fuel air opens to repeat the cycle. The initial combustion is achieved by the starter motor manually cranking the engine to force the pistons into action, think about some old timey looney toons cartoon when you see someone out in front of their car turning some sort of crank, that's what the starter does so you don't have to get out when you want to start it.

Advantages and disadvantages of four stroke petrol engine?

One advantage of having a four stroke petrol engine is the fuel economy. A disadvantage of the engine is in the cold weather they are harder to start.

A steam engine is an example of an?

An external combustion engine. It's also an example of an engine that will start itself (no starter motor required if it's the piston type rather than a turbine). It's also an example of an engine that has more torque when its running slowly than when it speeds up (if it's the piston type rather than a turbine).

How does a Bollinger engine work?

The engine is a 2 stroke 'semi' diesel. Inlet and exhaust are as per 'normal' two stroke diesel but the injected fuel is not ignited by compression alone as in a normal diesel. Instead a 'hot bulb' on the cylinder head is heated with a blow-lamp before starting and heat from this, transferred to a tube in the combustion chamber which ignites the fuel to start the engine. Once running the engine itself maintains the temperature. Often called a Hot Bulb Engine.
