What is purpose to spray in exhaust hood of steam turbine?

The purpose of exhaust hood spray is to decrease the temperature of steam turbine last stage that is probably LP. This is operate on low load specially at start up and shut down of steam turbine when the temperature at the outer most edge of the turbine blades of that stage is very high and As we know that the steam flow also decrease The temperature of turbine blade.

Why turbine blades are largenr in size at exhaust end?

Because the steam expands as it passes through the turbine. The steam velocity through the turbine is constant from steam chest to exhaust hood (though it changes in each stage). Thus, the space needed for the steam to expand needs to be expanded to correspond with that expansion of the steam.

What is a free flow exhaust system?

it is an exhaust system installed in trucks to make you have better gas mileage. it increases your mpgs at least 5 mpg. it usually is not used in cars because there aren't many places under the hood that it can be stored. In trucks, it is installed above the engine, but you can also store it inside of other gaps throughout the engine. Cars dont have large gaps in their engine, so it cant be installed in there. Other than increasing your gas mileage, it also makes it run quieter. In regards to the above answer.........that is not really accurate.Actually, A free flow exhaust is a type of system installed in vehicles for increased power and a sporty look. They are designed to remove engine emissions more efficiently than standard exhaust systems.Free flow exhaust systems are designed for looks and increased efficiency and power in vehicles. They are typically made of 100 percent stainless steel, which offers a nice sporty look. They weigh less than standard exhaust systems, which helps account for increased fuel economy and improvement in acceleration.Exhaust systems are used for removing spent gas from a vehicle's engine; therefore exhaust systems play a role in engine tuning and performance.A free flow system allows the spent gas to exit the vehicle more efficiently by changing the pipes used in the system and installing an inter-cooler between the engine and the exhaust. With a free flow exhaust system, a smoother removal of spent gas is offered. Because of this, vehicle owners notice an improvement in the overall way their vehicle runs. These systems promote better gas mileage and increased acceleration as well.

What is the shape of aviation engine?

Commercially-made piston engines such as those by Continental (Motors, aircraft engines, not the Lincoln cars) and Lycoming are generally air-cooled Flats. Flat engines such as flat-4 Flat-six and Flat-l2 predominate for private general aviation work, as this is probaby due to both wind resistance in the engine mounts or nacelle (Don"t say Hood, that"s for cars) and ease of maintenance. certain types of private aircraft use radial engines but these are older, pre-war types mostly such as the Stearman Biplane, etc. The Flats predominate- like a Housing complex!

What is vaccume breaker in steam turbine?

A vacuum breaker is a check valve installed on the exhaust casing of a turbine. It opens to prevent the collapse of the exhaust hood when the turbine cools and the condensing steam produces a vacuum.

What is hood spray in steam turbine?

Hood spray is injection of water near the outlet part of the last stage of the low pressure turbine to prevent overheating of the turbine exhaust hood and blades when running at partial (less than 35%) load). This phenomena is caused by partially stalled steam flow at the blade roots (steam is recirculating with turbulence at those parts and heating up its self and the blades due to friction losses)

Exhaustb hood spray in turbine?

It's the connection between the steam outlet of the turbine and the condenser to which it is attached.

What is an exhaust hood?

An exhaust hood pumps out all the steam and smoke from the room which is created from cooking. Its not mandatory that you have one but its great to have and you might as well have one installed.

Why water is cooled in a thermal power plant before reusing it?

The problem lies in the excess amount of heat in the water, and the ability to pump hot water. Hot water has a tendency to flash into steam if it is too hot and will damage pumps when it does this. More importantly for power plants, too much heat in the water prevents the condensers from condensing steam back into water, such that it will build up heat and backpressure in the exhaust hood of a turbine, reducing the amount of power the turbine can put out, as well as causing damage to the turbine blades, from moisture build up in the low pressure stages of the turbine. The vacuum created by condensing the steam keeps the steam in its vapor state in these stages.

What is windage losses in marine turbine and how to overcome?

Windage losses are reduced by fitting the astern turbine in the lowest area available exhaust end of the astern casing. also by fitting hood over the last stage of astern and ahead blades also by fitting astern turbine in its own casing

Where can an exhaust hood be bought?

An exhaust or range hood can be purchased at stores such as Lowe's, Canadian Tire or Home Depot. They are not difficult to install and are not extremely expensive.

Where is the oxygen sensor located on your 1992 camaro?

In the exhaust manifold or exhaust pipe and is accessible from under the hood

What does the term rangehood mean?

Rangehood are used to exhaust water vapor or steam and heat away from the cooking area above the range top. These exhaust fans can vent either up into the cabinet duct work, out the back through the wall, or be blown back into the room through the front-facing vent holes in the range hood.

Do a section 8 housing have to have an exhaust fan in the bathroom and the kitchen?

You must either have an exhaust fan or a window in the bathroom, and a range exhaust hood over the stove, or an exhaust fan that drives away any smoke, in the kitchen.
