- Give the chuck a spin while in neutral and feel for any abnormalities
- Switch the machine on and see if the oil flows in the oil flow sight glasses to ensure oil levels are correct.
- Check apron oil sight glass for oil levels
- Start the machine at about 200 to 250 RPM and listen for any abnormal noises. If all seems well, let the machine run for 5 to 10 minutes to warm up and enable lubrication to reach all ares within the head stock
