API 675 says that the metering pump has to be tested at 1.5 times the MAWP (Maximum Allowable Working pressure) but not less than 20psig (API 675 4.3.2.1)

What is the maximum pressure pipe can withstand without any leakage during hydrostatic pressure test called?

Test pressure

How does air lock affect a hydrostatic test?

Air can cause a very unsafe rise in pressure as air can be compressed as opposed to water thus the rational for a T&P valve.

What is the equivalent of BS 1873 in API standard?

BS Standard is a Specification for steel globe and globe stop and check valves (flanged and butt-welding ends) for the petroleum, petrochemical and allied industries the list below are standards that i wish help to you API 600 API 6D API 6A ASME B16.5 ASME B16.34

What is drop weight tear test?

The Drop Weight Tear Test (DWTT) is a test used to determine the fracture properties of steel at certain temperatures, and also to determine the temperature at which a steel transitions from ductile to brittle fractures. The test is performed by dropping a weighted hammer on to a full-thickness standard sized (usually 12" by 3") and notched sample, causing the sample to fracture ("tear") completely through the middle. The fractured surface is then observed and measured to determine what percentage of the "torn" area is ductile fracture. Ductile fractures are desired because they mitigate how fast and far fractures travel through the steel. The temperature at which this test is performed is important because steel becomes more likely to experience brittle fracture (which is not desired) at lower temperatures. The advantage of this test is that it can be used on full-thickness specimens, providing a more accurate demonstration of how the steel would fracture in a real application. This test is required by API standards for certain sizes and grades of steel line pipe for oil, gas, and petroleum products, to demonstrate that the pipe can experience ductile fracture at reasonably low temperatures. What is the equivalent of hydrostatic pressure test psi to nuematic pressure test psi?

The equivalent pressure for a pneumatic test is generally higher than that for a hydrostatic test due to the different properties of liquids and gases. A common guideline is to use a pneumatic test pressure of 1.5 to 2 times the hydrostatic test pressure. For example, if a hydrostatic test is conducted at 100 psi, the pneumatic test might be conducted at 150 to 200 psi. However, safety considerations must be taken into account, as pneumatic tests can be more hazardous.

What is difference between API 6D and API 598?

The pressure test for API 598 is slightly less pressure and less duration than API 6D. API 6D is specifically for pipeline valves.
