Boroscopic testing is a visual inspection test for internal heat exchanger and tube failures using fiber optic and rigid boroscopes, including Photography or videotape. Boroscopic testing reveals damages to internal blades etc. Boroscopes are used for inspection in other applications, also. Anywhere access is difficult is a potential application.
The verb "first article inspection" is the act of comparing a physical sample part with the specifications (usually a detail drawing, or blueprint) against which it was made.
