The 'g' added on to bar means 'gauge', as opposed to bara, meaning 'absolute'. The 'zero' of a normal gauge is normally set at atmospheric pressure (things like tire pressure gauges, water gauges etc.) These gauges will read as "10 bar" but really mean that the absolute pressure is 10 bar + atmospheric pressure (~1.01325 bar). Some gauges however are absolute gauges. These might include weather gauges, or gauges on closed processes. bara = barg + atmospheric pressure
The process of pumping down a heat pump is quite simple. First you should switch the unit into air conditioning and put your compound gauge on the suction line. Make sure the unit is running. Then valve off the discharge line and watch your gauge pressure. When it pulls itself down into a vacuum the heat pump is pumped down within itself. Make sure to valve off the suction line to make sure no refrigerant is released back into the air handling unit. You should now be able to lay some wet rags on the valves to protect them if you desire to sweat the unit away from the line set.
The set pressure is the pressure at which a relief valve starts to open. When the valve is open and relieving, the pressure will be higher or lower than the set pressure, depending on the system and the valve design. That is the blow-off pressure.

A vise tightens things.
A hardened slip gauge that is manufactured with highly accurate dimensions. Gage blocks are available in a set of standardized lengths.

The first generation of electronic ignition systems had a requirement to set the air gap between the reluctor and the pickup. It had to be set with a non ferrous metal gauge. That is why the brass blade in a feeler gauge set.
it meant for either a light gauge set with a high E or A string on a heavy gauge set.
Vehicles vary on how much gas is left in the reserve tank when the gauge starts flashing empty. Most vehicle manufacturers have it set up so that there is at least 1 1/2 to 2 gallons of gas left in the tank when the gauge flashes.
I have just seen this set on gunbroker.com
Yes
List the numbers from least to greatest. Count in from both ends the same times and you will note there is no middle number, but 2 middle numbers. Take the average of the 2 middle numbers and that is the mean of the set.
