It's a flat vice that clamps to the drill press table, to hold small items being drilled.
Depending on the size and volume of the workpiece. Vee blocks are used alot in machining, G-clamps are good for plate. A vice could be used for more heavy work pieces. Jigs and fixturing are a very good practice but are extremely costly to produce.
It's a vice which is opened and closed by the application or release of fluid pressure. The hydraulic pump can be hand pumped or electrically operated.
In some milling operations, the cutting tool remains stationary while the machine vice is used to move the work piece into the cutting tool and complete the machining operation. The precision movement of the machine vice allows the machinist to create pin-point operations by manipulating the vice's controls. In other operations, the machine vice is simply used to position the work piece while it is milled. This typically occurs when machining a work piece that is flat and square.
A clamp or vice that uses pneumatic power to close and hold pressure upon a part. Pneumatic means air. In this context compressed air.
I have special clamps similar to Vice Grips for this.
A woodworking vice is a must woodworkers tool, it clamps wood so you can work on your wood work project without having to worry about holding your wood while you are trying to work on it.

Every welder ought to have many clamps! C-clamps, vice grips, wide mouth vice grips (snap clamps) and bar clamps; a nice dead blow (metal mallet covered in rubber,) wire brush to clean welding area before and after weld, good grinder to grind down a finished weld. Also setup blocks, but that's only in R&D and precision welding shops.

The purpose of the electoral college is to elect the president and vice-president of the United States. It is made up of the electors from each state. They do not actually meet as a body, but send their votes to the President of the Senate.
The most commonly used stainless steel grades for clamps are 304 and 316. Grade 304 is widely used for general-purpose clamps because it provides good corrosion resistance, strength, durability, and relatively easy fabrication. Grade 316 is preferred when clamps are exposed to more corrosive environments, such as marine, chemical, or industrial applications. Its molybdenum content provides better resistance to corrosion than 304 in many demanding conditions. Other stainless steel grades may be selected depending on the application's temperature, strength, corrosion exposure, and fabrication requirements. Choosing the right stainless steel grade helps ensure that a clamp can provide reliable performance and a long service life.

The different types of front derailleur clamps available for bicycles include band clamps, braze-on clamps, and direct mount clamps. These clamps are used to attach the front derailleur to the frame of the bike.
