it is best to use the right size of philip screwdriver because this will prevent the screw to be from loosen its thread.
The wrong one won't engage the whole screw head, which increases the risk of stripping out the star pattern when you try to tighten/undo the screw. And w/o the star pattern, tightening or removing the screw becomes quite hard.

To calculate wrench size you measure across the flat surfaces of the nut or bolt, then pick a wrench marked with that size. Be careful, there are metric and SAE nuts and bolts and some wrenches are close but not right. -For instance you should not use a 1/2" wrench on a 12 mm nut. -It may look right, but will round the edges of the nut.
on the basis of nominal diameter with tolerances is called nominal size, while required size is called basic size
The grain structure of gray cast iron falls into 4 main classifications, or types. The most desirable of the four is called Type 'A' wherein the carbon is solidified into flake like crystals, in a random distribution. The size is also classified, in sizes ranging from Size 2 to 7. The best grain structure for general service castings is Type 'A', Size 3 to 5. The smaller the size number indicates the longest flake length, and the excessively long flakes in Size 2 will render the iron somewhat weaker, so the most desirable size is a mixture of 3, 4 and 5. Some applications may call for Type 4, but generally the other Types are undesirable and are the result of defective chemistry or a process defect.

A Philips head screwdriver, unlike a flat head screwdriver is slightly tapered to the point and has a characteristic + point or nose.Screws with a "Phillips head" have an inverse + profile rather than a single groove of a normal screw. This means that when the screwdriver is inserted into the screw is catches at 4 points (along the +), rather than along a single line. If you add up the surface area of the groove of a Philips screw to a similar (similar size) single groove screw you will notice that is is much larger; this means that the screwdriver has more surface area on the screw head and that it is divided over 4 contact points. This allows the Philips screw to be tightened with more torque than a traditional screw before the head shears off.
Hi, you could shop around for a tri-wing screwdriver, many people sell one that's the right size for use on nintendo products.
Depends on what head it has, a philips (cross-head) is easier to use than a straight edge head. As long as the screw driver, or drill bit your using is the right size, they aren't bad either way you go (philips or straight) the philips are just easier to keep drivers in.
