Does marijuana negate the effects of Vyvanse?

I do, and so far so good, I would like to know if it has any interactions, though, I am not being very smart about it for not knowing first. IMHO, I think the Vyvanse is bad for an adult if used long term, I think it would have to start messing with the ole ticker. If you had to give one of the two up, I would quit the Vyvanse. There are about 1,000 years of history with the other, not so much, for this here cocktail of God knows what. However, no doctor will tell you that, they seem to all personally benefit from specifying brands. I bet a lot of them go home to a little bag of sunshine every night and never touch any other meds...

Cannabinoids and amphetamine-like stimulants are two completely different psychotropic compounds.

While cannabinoids (like marijuana, THC) bind with cannabinoid receptors and potentiate GABA activity, thereby slowing firing patterns of neurons (particularly in the hippocampus and temporal lobe), amphetamines (such as Vyvanse) displace norepinephrine and dopamine from neural vesicles, causing an increase in the firing rate of various neurons.

The key is which neurotransmitter systems are activated/inhibited, and which parts of the brain are involved.

In the mesolimbic (pleasure/reward) circuit, you can expect dopamine release, resulting in euphoria from the marijuana. And, you can expect even more dopamine release from the Vyvanse. Therefore, it's expected that Vyvanse would amplify the euphoria created by marijuana.

However, with regard to secondary side effects, such as paranoia (which some people experience with marijuana), Vyvanse may very well make that effect worse. It all depends on the set and setting of the user.

Therefore, effects are mixed, but Vyvanse cannot be expected to completely reverse the effects of marijuana. Effects such as time distortion and memory impairment will still be present.
