The statement that you are six weeks pregnant means that you have been pregnant for six weeks, hence, you conceived six weeks ago. Bear in mind that these are estimates, they are not necessarily accurate down to the exact day. But they are reasonably good estimates.

You are 4 weeks pregnant and had a scan today you had the sack but no baby on the scan is this normal?

Hi Don't know if this will help, I had a +ve test at 4weeks 2 days but negative at hospital and nothing showed up on scan, +ve hospital test 2 days later and now 20 weeks pregnant. I was told that under 5 weeks it is very hard to see a definite pregnancy especially if they don't use a vaginal scan

3 weeks pregnant no baby on scan why is this?

Waaay too soon!

When did you conceive if your scan said you were 5 weeks and 2 days on July 21st?

5 weeks and 2 days before that day - give or take a day or two.

Scan dates say im 12 weeks and 2 days pregnant but i couldn't of conceived until 11 weeks and 2 days ago is the scan based on your last period or did you conceive 12 weeks and 2 days ago?

Your hunch is right; the ultrasound date is based on the day your last period ended. So, on average, the 40 week pregnancy begins two weeks before conception has even occured.

If you went for a scan and they couldn't see anything how many weeks am you?

If you went for a scan and they couldn't see anything, you might not be pregnant.

When your ultra sound says 6 weeks 5 days when did you conceived?

4 weeks and 5 days from scan, the first two weeks you are pregnant if the weeks which you are ovulating, technically you are not pregnant then but you still have a egg

If a scan showed you were 28 weeks pregnant but when you went to the hospital they said you felt 30-32 weeks pregnant could the scan prediction be wrong?

Ultrasound predictions of how far along someone is get worse and worse the longer the person is pregnant. An ultrasound predicting 28 weeks pregnant could be 2 weeks off (either more or less); by the end of pregnancy, they can be as many as three weeks off. The best ultrasounds to get to predict due dates are those done in the first trimester (first three months). In this case, having an ultrasound predicting 28 weeks pregnant and a physician predicting 30 could be about the same thing. "Feeling" 30-32 weeks pregnant also isn't the best predictor either, as different physicians and nurses may estimate differently. Hope this helps! Dr. B.

At what stage in pregnancy can you detect a heartbeat with a scan?

I was told that they can not detect a heart beat before 6 weeks old with a scan. therefore you must be at least 6 weeks pregnant before the scan will pick up the heart beat.

If you just found out you was pregnant and your first scan said 30 weeks how accurate is that?

Pretty accurate.

Will you see heartbeat on scan at 7 weeks pregnant?

no because the heart isn't all the way developed yet at 7 weeks

What is a normal heartbeat at 7 weeks gestation Im technically 7 weeks 3 days pregnant but ultrasound is dating it at 6 weeks 6 days. Heartbeat showed at 111 bpm?

I would say that is a normal heartrate for 6.6 days - my 7 week scan today showed the heartrate at 154 bpm - this is apparently the upper end of the scale. Best of luck with your pregnancy and congratulations, it is an incredible experience.

What would be the most logical reason that a baby would measure 4 weeks ahead on an ultrasound and can a scan be that much off?

If it is an early scan you must have got pregnant the month before. If it is a late scan (after 30 weeks) you may have a big baby. An early scan cannot be 4 weeks off. http://www.genetree.com/about/conception-calculator.asp
