Yes. A baby girl, Lakshmi , was born in Bihar, India somewhere around 2005. It was thought by some Hindus to be the re-incarnation or imbodiment of the Hindu goddess Vishnu, as she was supposedly born on the day that celebrates Vishnu. She didn't really have 8 functional limbs, as the deformity was the result of a headless "parasitic twin" fusing with the fetus at the pelvis. Doctors operated to remove the extra appendages (and other remnants of the twin) in 2007, as the girl was unlikely to survive past her childhood without the surgery.
