Observe--- observe the injury to get an idea of the severity

Touch----- gently touch the effected area to see if there is any pain or swelling.

Active Movement---- allow the athlete to try and move the effected area

Passive movement----- Gently move the limb for the athlete performing actions they would need to play.

SKills test --- test if they have the required movement to partake in the sport.

If the athlete fails one of these steps they should immediately be removed from the field.
