Have you been watching Anacondas? lol The stone spider doesn't paralize you (in the movie that is what it does). It's pain is almost like getting stung by a bee, leaving no more than a red mark. That's not to say that you should not be freaked out if you are ever in the neck of the woods and come across the spider that was in the movie. It didn't look like a stone spider... There are Spiders in Indonesia that can cause someone to become paralized and maybe the people there also reference them as stone spiders.
I recall reading somewhere that spider venom serves two purposes. 1. It incapacitates and kills the victim. 2. Compounds in the venom begin the dissolving of the interior of the victim, in effect, the first step of digestion.

One fan's opinion believes that Venom is Spider-Man's strongest villain because Venom shares a lot of the same powers as Spider-Man himself does but Venom shares an advantage that none of Spider-Man's other villains do because Spider-Man's spider-sense does not go off for Venom's presence while it will go off for every other presence.
