Sarcomeres are made of thin filaments (actin) and thick filaments (myosin) arranged in a repeating pattern. These filaments interact during muscle contraction to generate force and produce movement. Sarcomeres also contain structural proteins like titin and nebulin to provide stability and elasticity.
These are found in muscle cells. The action causes contractions. They cause a sliding or shortening movement.
To provide a power source for movement, and electrical power for operation.

Only striated muscles have sarcomeres , Skeletal and Cardiac muscles have sarcomeres. As for smooth muscles they doesnt have sarcomeres , since the Z lines are attached to dense bodies
