Why baby vomit by nose?

How old is your baby? My firstborn used to spit up a lot - he would projectile his formula half way across the room! I recommend you mention this to your pediatrician. They will say that a teaspoon of spit up looks like a lot more than it really is, but if you tell them that it's definitely more than a teaspoon - they might be inclined to do some testing. Does your baby spit up like this often? every bottle or just now and then? If it is often and it's a LOT, then it "could" be acid reflux which was the case with my baby. The doctor put him on zantac and the problem disappeared. - We had to suffer through a 24 hour study though before we got the medicine. They put a cord through his nose into his esophagus to monitor the amount of refluxed acid. It was a tough 24 hours, but the medicine made the problem go away.

The babies reflex system is not all that well developed that they can keep their mouth open when the want to throw up.

Due to the force exterted by the stomach muscles when throwing up, the food/liquid is ejected up the food pipe and sometimes it rushes past the mouth and comes straight out of the nose...

Just wash the nose with clean water and a soft cotton (wet) spiral. This should lessen the burning sensation in the nose due to the acidic nature of the stuff thrown out of the stomach.

It's normal, but you should make sure that there nose is clear with the nasal aspirator. Otherwise, then can't breathe.
