The Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services uses the AOC background check in order to process applications. In most states, incidents are viewed on a case by case basis. Mitigating factors are how long ago the incident occurred, was anyone harmed, and has there been any repeated problems. One arrest for public intoxication which occurred in the past may not automatically prevent one from becoming a Paramedic.

Why do intoxicated people urinate anywhere?

A symptom of intoxication is a lowering of inhibitions- A person's sense of reason and self restraint become clouded when intoxication sets in and the individual becomes less inhibited and more impulsive. meaning that certain behaviors you would normally not do- such as urinate in public-, now become perfectly viable options- when you gotta go and you are drunk you just go.
