Pyloric Sphincter
The name of the sphincter between the esophagus and the stomach is called the LES, or lower esophageal sphincter.
The sphincter located between the esophagus and the fundus of the stomach is called the lower esophageal sphincter (LES). It is a muscular ring that opens to allow food to enter the stomach and then closes to prevent stomach acid from flowing back into the esophagus.
Another name for the esophageal sphincter is the lower esophageal sphincter (LES). It is a muscular ring located at the bottom of the esophagus that helps prevent stomach contents from flowing back up into the esophagus.
The lower esophageal sphincter which is part of the esophagus.
The sphincter at the top of the stomach is called the cardiac sphincter because it is located near the heart, which is known as the cardiac region. This sphincter helps regulate the passage of food from the esophagus into the stomach, preventing backflow of stomach contents into the esophagus.
A band of muscles at the opening of the stomach called the Cardiac (due to its proximity to the heart) Sphincter.
The spincters located in the esophagus are: the upper sphincter at the top and the lower (the cardiac sphincter) at the bottom of the esophagus. They regulate the food passing through the esophagus.
epiglottis
To hold the food within the stomach there are two valves. At the top of the stomach is the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) which prevents backsplash of stomach contents upward into the esophagus. At the bottom of the stomach is the pyloric which controls the "drain" of the stomach.
The stomach and first part of the small intestine (duodenum) is connected by pylorus which has 2 parts. The on the stomach opening is called pyloric antrum and the opening in the duodenum is the pyloric canal type.
I believe that it is called the Pyloric Sphincter.
