It's Middle English, from Latin terminlis, from terminus, boundary.

Actually, most Latin words have a Greek origin because Italy was settled by Greek speakers. The root of terminus is the Greek word terma which meant end or boundary. That, in turn, comes form the indo-eurpoean root ter- which means the same thing.
