This just refers to the fact that at the time of the Battle of Britain, all other European countries had been overrun by Nazi Germany. The USA was still neutral so Britain was standing alone against a formidable enemy.

What was the German first strategy?

"The Germany First Policy" was defeating Germany first. Churchill had been lobbying FDR for years trying to get the US into the war to save Britain from collapse (Churchill's "Britain stands alone" speech). Russia was holding it's own, but Britain was an island and on the verge of losing the war against Germany. After Pearl Harbor, the American people wanted to defeat Japan FIRST. Japan had attacked America...Germany did not. But thanks to Churchill's hard lobbying efforts, FDR had agreed to "save Europe first (read save Britain)", which was translated by the press and the American public into simply "defeating Germany first." The direct results of this "policy" was the sacrifice of the US servicemen (Army, Navy, Marine Corps) in the Philippines and outlying regions (amounting to the largest US surrenders in US history in 1942). They received no reinforcements, due to the "Germany first policy", and surrendered in the Pacific.

Did the UK support the US in the Vietnam war?

The UK had to be somewhat "kind" (nice) to the US during that time frame, as the US was a major power with US military forces stationed in the UK and Germany during the cold war. So it was a good idea to retain proper attitudes towards one another during those times. But, the Britain (UK) did believe the US should get out of Vietnam. Australia & New Zealand, on the other hand, lived in the sphere of Vietnam, thus they felt abit different about the war. Britain wanted full concentration in Europe (NATO) during the cold war; just as in WWII...Britain did not like...(or feared) the US would concentrate too much on Japan and not Germany (thus endangering the UK..."Britain stands alone..." etc.). Consequently, any actions deverting the US from the UK was felt strongly against.

What does world war 2 army stamp NWE mean?

The World War II army stamp "NWE" stands for "Northwest Europe," referring to the theater of operations where Allied forces conducted military campaigns against Nazi Germany. This designation was used to categorize various documents, equipment, and supplies related to the troops deployed in that region, particularly during the D-Day invasion and subsequent battles in France and the Low Countries.

What date is the battle of Britain remembered?

The Battle of Britain is primarily remembered on September 15, which is known as Battle of Britain Day. This date marks a significant turning point in the battle, as it was the day of the largest and most intense aerial attacks by the German Luftwaffe and the successful defense by the Royal Air Force in 1940. The battle itself spanned from July 10 to October 31, 1940, but September 15 stands out as a symbolic moment in British resilience during World War II.
