in Berlin
Germany had been conpletely and utterly defeated.
U-boats.They were invented by Germany, but they didn't invent them in WW2 - They had been used prior to the FIRST World War (1850).
Yes, it had been invaded by Germany.
The Rhineland, that is the area of Germany between the Rhine river & the Holland, Belgium, French border was designated to be occupied by allied forces after WW1. They were supposed to be there until 1935 but were withdrawn in 1930. It was to be a demilitarised buffer zone. General Guderian was quoted after the war (WW2) that Germany would have been powerless to oppose an allied intervention when Hitler marched a couple of divisions in, & the likelyhood would have been the removal of Hitler as chancellor at that time ! Hindsight is such a wonderful attribute !
After World War I, as part of the Versailles Treaty, Germany was forced to dimilitarize the Rhineland, an area of land between Germany and France, as a protection for France who had been invaded during WWI. At the start of WWII, the Rhineland was remilitarized on Hitler's orders, breaking the Treaty of Versailles and acting as one of the factors leading to the declaration of war.
The word demilitarize means that troops and weapons are not allowed. Any area that has been demilitarized then no soldiers or military bases are allowed in that area.
The Korean War. The country was divided on the demilitarized zone. No peace treaty has been made.
Germany has not been a single country since the end of World War 2
Germany were very angry about the treaty because they had been forced to sign it, and so the War guilt clause 231, which meant Germany took responsibility for the war. This meant that they had to pay massive reparations of £6,600 million as compensation for the damage caused by the war. They also had land taken off them, their army limited to 100,000 mean, the Rhineland demilitarized for 15 years and the Saar taken off them and given to France for 15 years. This all humiliated Germany and made them hate the Treaty of Versailles.
Germany had been conpletely and utterly defeated.
Yes, it is legal to own a tank in the US as long as it has been demilitarized and does not have operational weapons.

No, Germany lost the war all on it's own. In fact if the U.S. had not been fighting Japan then Germany would have probably been defeated earlier.
What do you mean by COULD HAVE BEEN? They were.
No. It had been incorporated into Germany in 1938 as an integral part of Germany.
